Step into the magical world of Bretagne

On Friday, February 13th, the Alliance Française will be transformed to celebrate one of France’s most fascinating regions (dressed in black and white, infused with the unmistakable aroma of salted butter!).

Julien, our youth leader, will bring you through the past and present of the Région Bretagne, with a focus on the Département du Finistère, where he comes from.

This evening is an invitation to discover the rich history of the region, from prehistoric megaliths to the deep cultural links between Bretagne, Great Britain, and Ireland, as well as the historic struggles between the Kingdom of France and the Duchy of Bretagne.

You’ll also explore Bretagne as it exists today, with a deep dive into the region’s vibrant folklore: traditional food, the Breton language, music, costumes, and many other symbols that make Bretagne so unique.

To complete the experience, traditional Breton dishes will be shared at the end of the presentation—so your taste buds can discover Bretagne just as fully as your mind.
